Understanding where our values come from, how they're calculated, and what they mean — so you can trade with confidence.

Where Our Data Comes From

RBXPortfolio pulls item values from multiple trusted sources to give you the most accurate picture possible:

Roblox Economy API — Direct market data for Roblox Limited items, including resale listings, buy offers, recent average price (RAP), and sales history. This is the highest-confidence source.

Rolimons — A widely-used community aggregator for Roblox Limiteds. We cross-reference their demand labels, trend signals, and collector counts.

Community Value Sites — For game economies (Adopt Me, MM2, Pet Simulator 99, Blox Fruits, etc.), we ingest values from established community sites that track in-game trading activity.

Manual Admin Values — Some items, especially newer or niche ones, are assigned values manually by our team based on community consensus.

How Values Are Calculated

Our valuation engine (v2) uses a weighted multi-factor model:

1Recent Sales Data — Sales from the last 7–30 days are weighted by recency. Older sales have lower weight. Outliers (>3× median absolute deviation) are excluded.

2Order Book Analysis — Best ask, best bid, and top-5 ask/bid averages are used to determine the mid-price and spread.

3Liquidity Regime — Items with fewer sales (low liquidity) receive a discount to their fair value to reflect the difficulty of selling quickly.

4Cross-Source Agreement — When multiple sources agree on a value range, confidence is boosted. Significant divergence raises a "Market Divergence" risk flag.

5Demand & Trend Signals — Demand scores and price trend direction factor into the final estimate.

The result is a Fair Value and a Liquid Value (fair value minus a liquidity discount). Neither is a guaranteed price — they are estimates based on available market data.

Confidence Levels Explained

Every item carries a confidence score (0–100) and label:

Very High (90–100) — Multiple live sources agree, high sales volume, fresh data.

High (75–89) — Good data quality, minor gaps or slight source divergence.

Moderate (50–74) — Adequate data but some uncertainty. Use as a rough guide.

Low (25–49) — Limited market evidence or stale data. Trade cautiously.

Speculative (0–24) — Very little data or no live source. Value is a rough estimate only.

Always check the confidence level before making important trading decisions.

How Often Data Is Updated

We run automated sync pipelines to keep data fresh:

Roblox Limited Items — Market data (RAP, resale prices, sales) is refreshed multiple times per day for high-priority items, and at least daily for all others.

Community Game Values — Fetched every 6–48 hours depending on item demand (high-demand items refresh more frequently).

Item Thumbnails — Synced from Roblox CDN periodically.

Valuation Snapshots — A historical snapshot of each item's computed value is saved after each sync cycle.

You can see when an item was last synced on its detail page. A "Stale Data" risk flag is raised if an item hasn't been updated recently.

Limitations & Disclaimer

Item values shown on RBXPortfolio are community estimates and market approximations only. They are not guaranteed prices.

Values can change rapidly in response to market events, new item releases, or community sentiment shifts.

Game economy values (Adopt Me, MM2, PS99, etc.) are not denominated in Robux — they reflect in-game currency units and depend on community consensus.
