Pet Simulator 99 Trading Checklist — 10 Things to Do Before Every Trade

Pet Simulator 99 Trading Checklist — 10 Things to Do Before Every Trade
Getting scammed or accepting a losing trade is one of the most frustrating things in Pet Simulator 99. The good news? Most bad trades are completely avoidable if you take a few minutes to do your homework.
Here's the 10-point checklist every PS99 trader should run through before accepting any trade.
✅ 1. Look Up the Current Value of Every Pet Involved
Never rely on the other trader's claim of what a pet is worth. Always verify yourself.
How: Check RBXPortfolio PS99 Values or cross-reference community value sheets.
✅ 2. Check the Demand Level
A pet can have a high listed value but low demand — meaning you might not be able to re-trade it easily.
What to look for: High or Very High demand = liquid. Low demand = harder to move.
✅ 3. Verify the Trend Direction
Is the pet Rising, Stable, or Falling in value? Never accept a falling pet unless you're getting a significant overpay.
✅ 4. Check for Recent Value Changes
New Huge pet releases often tank the values of older, similar pets. A pet that was worth 2M last month might be 1.2M today.
How: Check the value history chart on each item's page.
✅ 5. Calculate the Total Value of Both Sides
Use the Trade Calculator to add up both sides and see the exact difference.
Rule of thumb: Accept if the difference is within 10-15%. Don't accept if you're losing more than 20% value.
✅ 6. Confirm Pet Variants (Golden / Rainbow / Dark Matter)
Make sure you're trading the right version of a pet. A regular Huge Cat is worth far less than a Golden or Rainbow variant.
✅ 7. Avoid Same-Type Downgrades
Never trade 1 high-tier Huge for multiple low-tier Huges unless you're deliberately liquidating. Multiple low-value pets are harder to upgrade later.
✅ 8. Watch for "Overpay" Traps
If someone offers to significantly overpay you with pets, ask yourself WHY. Often they're trading you pets that have secretly dropped in value or are about to be made easier to obtain.
✅ 9. Don't Trade Under Pressure
Traders who rush you, spam you, or pressure you to accept quickly are almost always trying to scam you. Legitimate trades can wait.
✅ 10. Check Your Petfolio Balance After
After every trade, recalculate your total Petfolio value. Did it go up or down? Hold yourself accountable to building wealth, not just collecting pets.
Quick Trade Assessment Formula
Give Value ÷ Receive Value × 100 = Trade Efficiency %
- 90–110% = Fair trade ✅
- 75–89% = Slight loss — only accept if you want that specific pet
- Below 75% = Decline ❌
Use this checklist every time and you'll avoid 90% of bad trades in PS99. Happy trading! 🐾
